Nos vestes bi-matières : belles, belles et rebelles.

Our two-material jackets: beautiful, handsome and rebellious.

Fashion is riddled with arbitrary rules that, through careless repetition, have taken on the value of laws. Among these, we can cite a handful without claiming to be exhaustive: do not wear brown in town, ban white socks with loafers, refrain from mixing patterns, never mix more than 3 colors, ban white in winter, be careful with texture combinations or what else do we know.

At Hast, this codified vision made of haphazard and self-proclaimed standards does not satisfy us. On the contrary, we see clothing as a space of freedom , suitable for expressing one's values and creativity without hindrance.

It is in this spirit that we have been developing an inclusive and intuitive wardrobe since 2012. Concerned with style and aware of the world , our wardrobe ignores injunctions to focus on the essentials: labeled natural fibers, noble and sustainable materials, clean cuts and the best European know-how.

Without regard for trends, without eyes for commandments, we rely on our instinct and our sensitivity to develop collections placed under the sign of requirement and accuracy. Far from the constraints, we cultivate the idea of a quiet elegance, dressed with care, conviction and independence. An idea embodied by our latest two-material work jackets, valiantly draped with audacity and panache.

The bold work of bi-material

Etiquette and decorum would require that we refrain from multiplying the play of contrasts on the same piece. Why? We do not know too much. No doubt this procedure was, one day, decreed unsightly, inelegant or clumsy.

As strange as it may be, this unspoken rule seems to have done its job since it is rare to come across jackets daring to contravene it.

A fault confessed is half forgiven: this poetics of dissimilarity pleases us. At Hast, we love the harmony that springs from this discrepancy. No matter the codes and their authority, we have chosen to listen to our hearts and explore this land where opposites, as elsewhere, attract each other.

Worse: we committed the double impertinence of working on the contrast at the level of textures but also at the level of colors. Absolute heresy for some, aesthetic festival for others (including us).

Presentation of our two-material jackets

There are three of them and they share essentially the same attributes: a contrasting collar and inner cuffs , distinguished by both different colours and dissimilar fabrics.

Furthermore, the design of this trio of jackets is completely faithful to the models you are now used to from Hast : a straight cut, a body in 100% wool fabric, two patch pockets with an invisible flap at the front, a generous knight collar and a marked button placket ; details characteristic of the French jackets of the 50s whose models we used.

Without further ado, we suggest you go and meet them imtely:

  1. The work jacket in mottled beige wool. Made from a 275 gr/m2 fabric woven and dyed in Portugal, this two-material jacket offers a choice alternative for mid-season. At the collar and cuffs, a thickness of cognac corduroy delicately contrasts with the beige wool of the body, which gives the whole a warm and bright tone. Ideal for livening up an outfit considered too wise.

  1. The navy wool work jacket. Cut from a thick 320 gr/m2 wool cloth, this version in dark and deep colors will support you until the heart of winter, over a big sweater or under a coat. In a subtle play of contrasts, the midnight blue of the fabric and the black of the corduroy respond to each other to deliver a recital of nuances, all in elegance and sobriety.

  1. The patterned beige wool work jacket. A notch higher on the originality scale, we find this two-material jacket whose ecru corduroy collar and cuffs calm the ardor of a material that is nothing short of breathtaking. Woven and dyed in Italy, this fabric reveals a symphony of natural tones — beige, dark green, sage, ochre, rust and brown — that evokes an autumnal stroll. Vertically, its delicate lines envelop it in a deliciously retro atmosphere. Thicker than the first and less massive than the second, this third work jacket is adorned with a 290 gr/m2 fabric, an ideal density for cold days and cool evenings.

Freedom, equality, versatility

After the shirt , the centerpiece of the Hast wardrobe since 2012, the work jacket is the other reference in our collections. Directly inspired by the high French tradition, the models we develop are fully in line with the French worker heritage , updated to meet the demands of the contemporary world.

Although more adventurous, the two-material trio we are talking about today is no exception. Proud of its heritage, it dares to push the cursor of modernity a little further by assuming a slightly more marked subversive character.

In a word, these three jackets master the codes to better vaporize them. And we invite you to do the same.

Should you avoid brown in the city? So drink some, and more than you need.

Should white socks be banned with loafers? Not for you.

Should you be more cautious with textured pieces? So give your outfits some relief by cultivating unevenness.

Should Monsieur wear men's clothing and Madame wear women's clothing? And what else?

In short, we should be wise. We should be reasonable. We should be prudent. Observe the rules, all the rules, nothing but the rules. The rules on colors, the rules on materials, the rules on seasons. Again and again the rules.

But you know what? Nothing is set in stone. Neither codes nor conventions. Like our two-material jackets, you have this power of subversion within you. Like her, you can pulverize the boundaries between genres, styles and occasions. You set the rules.
